2024年,曼谷独立摇滚乐队 LEPYUTIN 推出首张全长专辑《Deviation From The Norm》,以不被框架束缚的创作、多元多变的音乐风格,勾勒出独属于乐队的音乐表达;而在五月开启内地巡演之前,UPEE 有幸与 LEPYUTIN 进行一期专访,聆听他们的专辑创作、音乐理念、成员 Genius 与 Zee 回复了我们的问题。
UPEE:你们在 2024 年发布了乐队的首张全长专辑《Deviation From The Norm》,是如何想到以“Deviation From The Norm”这个语境上更贴近于社会学、生理或心理学的术语来作为专辑的标题,可以分享选择它作为标题的原因吗?
Genius, Zee:我们做音乐不会拘泥于任何固定框架或方向,就是想到什么就做什么,想探索、想实验哪种风格,就放手去做。所以在为专辑命名时,我们希望用一个能体现这种创作心态的名字。
这其实就是一种我们以自己的方式去理解和感知的东西。
Normally, when we make music, we don’t stick to any fixed framework or direction. We’re the kind of people who just go for it. whatever direction we feel like exploring or experimenting with, we do it. So when it came to naming the album, we wanted something that reflects that mindset.
It’s really just something that we feel we understand, in our own way.
UPEE::《Deviation From The Norm》一部分整体厚实的 Neo Psych 底色令听众印象深刻,而在你们今年一月发布的《BUSINESS OPPORTUNITY》里编排风格似乎进行了更为“直简”的探索,你们会如何形容 LEPYUTIN 在音乐上的特质?
Genius, Zee:如果打个比方,我把 LEPYUTIN 看作一列没有单一终点的高速列车——它同时穿行在多种情感之间。沿途有些时刻是美丽的、困惑的,或是激烈的,但它始终向所有人敞开,欢迎大家跳上车和我们一起开启这段旅程。
If I had to compare it, I see LEPYUTIN as a high-speed train that doesn’t have just one destination—it moves through a range of emotions all at once. Along the way, some moments are beautiful, confusing, and intense, but it’s always open for anyone to jump on and take the ride with us.
UPEE:与此同时,《Deviation From The Norm》里也有《Summer Time》这样优美平和的曲目,我们好奇你们创作一首曲目的过程通常是什么样的?
Genius, Zee:有时候是我们中的一位成员先做一个 Demo,然后其他人加入,通过 jam来协助编曲,这样我们就能把这首歌打磨成大家脑海中最清晰的样子。这就是我们通常的运作方式。
比如在《Summer Time》这首歌中,贝斯手 Pluem 独自完成了整首歌的创作。我们没有对原始 Demo 做任何改动,只是丰富了细节,让画面感更清晰。我们觉得它本身就已经非常美了。
Sometimes one of our band members will start with a demo, and then the rest of us come in and help arrange it by jamming together, so we can shape the song into the clearest version of what we all hear in our heads. That’s usually how our process works.
For example, in Summer Time, our bassist Pluem wrote the whole song on his own. We didn’t change anything from the original demo; we just brought out the details and made the picture clearer. We already felt it was beautiful in its own way.
UPEE:自 2020 年代以来,摇滚乐在独立音乐圈有了明显的复兴迹象。作为艺术家,你们如何看待这一现象?你们认为 LEPYUTIN 的作品在这场浪潮中处于什么位置?
Genius, Zee:对我们来说,摇滚乐一直都在,和其他所有流派一样;只是近几年,它重新回到了大众的聚光灯下。作为艺术家,我们希望我们的作品能成为其中的一部分,帮助人们重新发现摇滚乐,并让大家重新开始讨论它。
To us, rock music has always been around, along with every other genre; it’s just that in recent years, it’s been coming back into the spotlight again. As artists, we hope our work can be part of that, helping people rediscover it and get back into talking about rock music.
UPEE:《BUSINESS OPPORTUNITY》和《Deviation From The Norm》中的一些曲目是用英文创作的。未来 LEPYUTIN 会尝试用泰语写歌吗?
Genius, Zee:这么说吧,一切皆有可能。

UPEE:去年我们采访了 JPBS,与此同时,越来越多来自曼谷的摇滚乐队受到了中国乐迷的关注。你会如何描述曼谷的独立音乐场景?它对你们的创作有什么具体影响吗?
Genius, Zee:泰国的独立音乐场景非常复杂,流派极其丰富,越来越多的艺术家在尝试不同的声音。这可能受到了文化和互联网的影响,让人们能够看到并理解新的视角。身处这个圈子,激励着我们去努力提升这个群体的曝光度,让它获得更广泛的认可。
The Thai independent music scene is very complex, with a wide range of genres, and more and more artists are experimenting with their sound. This might be influenced by culture and the internet, which allow people to see and understand new perspectives. Being part of this scene inspires us to help make the community more visible and more widely recognized.
UPEE:此外,在《Deviation From The Norm》发布后,LEPYUTIN 参加了包括 ONE MUSIC CAMP 和 LUCFest 在内的海外音乐节,并前往香港和台湾巡演。关于这些海外演出,有什么令你们印象深刻的回忆吗?
Genius, Zee:说实话,每个地方在某种程度上都有相似的感受,能量中总带着些熟悉感。但如果一定要选出两个最令我印象深刻的地方,我会说是台湾和日本。那些经历真的让我难以忘怀。从演出的第一秒到最后一刻,观众都表现得极其热情,整间屋子都充满了那种强烈的、共鸣的能量。这不仅仅是在看表演,感觉就像每个人都参与其中,随着音乐共同律动和呼吸。那种连接感是我永远不会忘记的。
Honestly, every place shares a similar feeling in its own way; there’s always something familiar in the energy. But if I had to pick two that impressed me the most, I’d say Taiwan and Japan. Those experiences have really stayed with me. From the very beginning of each show to the last moment, the audience is incredibly welcoming, and there’s this strong, shared energy that fills the entire room. It’s not just about watching a performance; it feels like everyone is part of it, moving and breathing together with the music. That connection is something I won’t forget.
UPEE:你们在中国有什么想体验的事物,或者想尝试的美食吗?
Genius, Zee:对我们来说,探索总是从当地的街头小吃开始。我喜欢探索城市,观察它的建筑和技术,看看每个地方的世界是如何演变的。到了晚上,我通常会出现在 Livehouse 里。那可能是我与一座城市建立联系最深的方式。
For us, it always starts with local street food. I like exploring the city, observing its architecture and the technology, seeing how the world is evolving in each place. And at night, I usually end up at live houses. That’s probably how I connect with a city the most.
UPEE:你们愿意分享一张 2025 年最喜欢的发行作品吗?
Genius, Zee:《Hot Box》是各方面感觉最完整的一首歌——视觉、歌词和情感都指向同一个明确的方向。它真实地捕捉到了歌中描述的那种“Hot Box”的感觉。如果你喜欢那种在单曲中穿梭于多种情绪和质感的作品,这首绝对值得一听。
“Hot Box” is the track where everything feels the most fully realized, the visuals, the lyrics, and the emotion all align in one clear direction. It genuinely captures that “hot box” feeling exactly as described in the song.
