专访 Shanghai Qiutian | 爱是我们唯一拥有的东西

Shanghai Qiutian 始终以真诚的情感持续探索自己的创作边界，勾勒出独属于乐队的音乐图景。全新四碟专辑《爱你》诞生于乐队的自我反思与治愈之旅，完成了一场关于自我、爱与陪伴的重新探索（也即将于本月 20 日上线全球流媒体平台）。恰逢《爱你》专辑巡演即将开启，UPEE 有幸邀请 Shanghai Qiutian 进行一期专访，分享专辑创作、乐队成长与现场表达背后的故事与心声。
UPEE：在 2023 年《黑旗》之后，你们休团了一段时间，可以分享这段时间你们在做什么吗？
SHQT：我觉得我们当时处于一个自我反思的过程中，试图往内心深处看。现在隔了一段时间回过头看，感觉那时候我们脑子里有很多疑问，比如：我们的人生在做什么？坚持下去的意义是什么？等等。
当时大部分成员都待在家里，继续做着日常的工作，而我和鲁非言在欧洲待了一段时间，陪在家人身边，花时间去治愈自己。过了一阵子，鲁非言给我打电话，说他想在柏林录一张自己的专辑，如果我能帮忙就太好了。于是我就去了柏林，还带上了我父亲。
那是一段非常酷的时光，我们一起玩音乐、做制作，录了很大一堆曲子。在那一刻，感觉做这些事挺开心的。我已经很久没弹吉他了，所以那之后我开始重新捡起吉他。一切都发生得很自然，接下来的步子可能就是大家聚在一个房间里，开始一起弄点音乐。所以我们就这么做了。我去了瑞士，住在鲁非言父母家里，我们一起琢磨想做点什么。就是即兴玩，找找乐子，唯一的要求就是：没有目标，不为了做专辑，也不为了复出……
但我感觉，就这么过了一段时间，我们一直在演奏、写歌、录音，所有的东西慢慢成形，变成了现在的《爱你》。这里面有很多风格迥异的歌，但对我们来说，这是一个重新发现自我的过程。
I think we were in a process of self reflection. Just trying to look to the inside. Now from the distance it feels that we had a lot of questions at that moment, questions like: what are we doing with our lives? What’s the reason to keep going? Etc.
While many band members stayed home, kept going with their actual jobs, 鲁非言 and 王毅 we retreated for a while in Europe, being close to family and taking time to heal. After a while 鲁非言 called me saying he wanted to record his own album in Berlin and would be nice if I could help him. So off I went to Berlin and I brought my father along.
It was a really cool time we played, produced and recorded a good bunch of music and at that point, it kind of felt nice to do so. I did not play guitar in a long time so after that I started picking it up a bit more. And felt natural that the next step was to maybe get in a room and start doing some music together
So that’s what we did, I went to Switzerland and stayed at 鲁非言’s parents while we were figuring out what we wanted to do, just jamming and having fun with the only requirement of: there is no goals, no album in mind, no comeback…
But I guess that’s after a while, we kept playing, writing and recording and everything shaped in what “爱你” is right now, a lot of songs from different styles, but for us…a process to rediscover ourselves.
UPEE：你们去年12月发布了一张四碟专辑《爱你》，并且只通过你们自己的网站提供收听，这是一个非常“独立”性质的举动。是什么启发了以这样的形式发布了这一张巨大体量的作品？
SHQT：现在我们消费音乐的方式——其实这件事放在任何领域似乎都一样——就像去麦当劳吃个汉堡，或者在 Tinder 上滑一滑找个伴侣。人们几乎没时间去听完一张专辑，甚至看一分钟的视频都觉得太长了。所以，这样做是我们刻意而为的，就是想反其道而行之，让这张专辑变得“没那么容易听到”。这样如果你决定去听它，你就会投入全部的注意力。
除此之外，最近我们一直在讨论流媒体平台以及它们是如何对待乐队和艺术家的，讨论我们在行业中的位置，以及我们想用自己的音乐做什么……如你所见，这段时间我们的人生确实充满了反思。
The way we consume music, and this it seems could be also said about everything, is the same as we were going to McDonalds to eat a burger or swiping Tinder to find the right partner. People barely has time to listen to albums, even one minute videos feel a bit too long. So yes, making it this way it was a deliberate action to go against that current and make the album hard enough to listen to, so if you were going to listen to it you would have full attention on it.
Apart from that, lately we have been discussing a lot about streaming platforms and how they serve bands and artists, how we see our place in the industry, what we want to do with our music…as you see it’s been quite a reflective period in our lives.
UPEE：与此同时，你们也有在一些线下场景以提供 NFC 卡片的方式进行宣传，又是如何想到这样的互动形式的？
SHQT：鲁非言是个程序员，对他来说，创建一个网站和创作音乐很像。这能让他进入一种“解决问题”的模式，有时候这种感觉和创作其他任何东西都是通用的。
但除此之外，我们只是想找一种兼具独特性和移动性的技术。我们考虑过二维码之类的东西，最后选择了 NFC 标签，因为我们可以远程更改内容。所以谁知道呢……也许以后某天你扫描这个卡片，它会把你带到别的地方去。
而且，卡片是我们自己做的，手工丝网印刷，一张张剪开，再贴上 NFC 模块……我们就是喜欢这种做事方式。这也和专辑名“爱你”非常契合，因为在做这些卡片的时候，我们也投入了满满的爱。
Florian is a programmer, and for him creating a website etc it’s similar to create music. It allows him to get full on “problem solving” mode which sometimes it feels similar to create anything else.
But despite that, we just wanted to find a technology that allows uniqueness and mobility. We thought about qr codes and other similar things and in the end we went for the NFC tags, because we can also change them remotely, so who knows…maybe at some point you will scan the NFC tag and it will direct you to somewhere else.
But then, making the cards ourselves, screen printing by hand, cutting them one by one, sticking the NFC…we just love doing things this way, it also felt pretty align with the album title, “爱你” , as we were putting our love fully while doing the cards.
UPEE：很显然 Shanghai Qiutian 在国内的器乐摇滚社群之间拥有非常活跃的乐迷群体，你们觉得 Shanghai Qiutian 和它的乐迷是什么样的关系？对此又有什么特别的感受吗？
SHQT：肯定有很多乐队会这么说，但我们的乐迷群体感觉真的像一个大家庭。我觉得大家来演现场，是知道在这里能感受到这种“在一起”的感觉。大家会鼓励彼此更勇敢地做自己，空气中弥漫着那种我们在日常生活中常常需要的爱。大家一直以来对我们都非常好，我们不相信那种“艺人 x 观众”的巨大距离感。我们相信如果我们能帮到大家，我们就在这里；同样，如果乐迷能帮到我们，他们也会毫不犹豫地伸出援手。
For sure many bands will say this, but our fan base it truly feels like a family. I think people comes to our live shows knowing that they will feel this togetherness, people will encourage each other to be more themselves and there is this kind of love in the air that many times we need in our daily lives. People it’s just incredibly nice to us the whole time, we do not believe in “Artist x audience” sort of huge distance, we believe that if we can help them, we are here for them, as well as if they can help us they won’t hesitate on helping.
UPEE：有许多乐迷对于你们的现场印象深刻，你们会如何形容 Shanghai Qiutian 的现场？
SHQT：我觉得我们对待每一场演出都是独一无二的，不会重复。我们可能不怎么用 Program、VJ 之类的一套，这也让我们更灵活。如果我们在台上觉得当天的氛围和下一首歌不搭，想改歌单，我们就直接改了。我觉得现场有一种自发性和即兴感，像是一种“受控的混乱”，但最后又逻辑自洽。我们追求的是人与人的交流，不是“插电即弹”或者“坐下观看”，我们的目标是让你觉得你就在演出之中，你是它的一部分。有时候能做到，有时候难一点。归根结底我们都是人，每一天都是不同的，这就是美妙之处。
最重要的是，每次上台我们都会拼尽全力。我们对舞台怀有一种敬畏心，觉得自己足够幸运能把音乐作为人生的主业，所以我们起码要做到尊重这一点，在台上的每个夜晚都拿出最好的表现。
I think we treat each and every show as unique, it won’t repeat itself. Maybe not using any sort of program, VJ and this kind of stuff it allows us to be more flexible. If we want to change the setlist while on stage because the feeling of the day doesn’t match with the song that was coming, we will change it. I think there is a sense of spontaneity and improvisation. It’s like a controlled chaos that at this end of the day makes total sense. We find human interaction, it’s not plug and play or sit and watch, our goal is more that you feel you are inside of the show, you are part of it. Sometimes we will make it happen, other times it’s harder. In the end we are all human beings, so every day it’s different and that’s the beauty of it.
On top of that, we just give our all every time we are on the stage, there is this sort of respect towards being on the stage, the feeling of being lucky enough to be able to do music as our main thing in life, so the bare minimum we can do is to respect that and give our best every single night we are up there.
UPEE：上海这座城市一直以来是 Shanghai Qiutian 音乐以及叙事中非常重要的一部分，具体到《爱你》这张专辑来说，你们觉得这座城市在这张作品的创作有带来哪些特别的影响吗？你们又会如何形容这座城市的此时此刻？
SHQT：我们每个人和上海都有不同的故事，而这正是我们的共同点：我们都和上海有故事。
Shanghai Qiutian 的成员没有一个是上海本地人，有的来自中国其他地方，有的来自更远的地方，这让我们每个人对上海都有不同的视角。我们都在这座城市成年，尽管有时候没那么喜欢它，但我们还是留在了这里。这座城市意义重大，因为它见证了我们成年的过程，看着我们成长、学习、恋爱、工作、开启不同的项目……上海一直是我们的游乐场，是我们的“只要努力尝试，一切皆有可能”之地，这也是 Shanghai Qiutian 诞生的部分原因。
不同时期我们也搬过很多次家，住过市中心，也住过崇明岛、青浦、朱家角…… 所以可以说我们也见识过这座城市的很多面。总而言之，上海塑造了现在的我们，所以我们觉得我们所做、所写的一切，都有上海的影子。
We all have a different story with Shanghai, and that’s what we have in common, we all have a story with Shanghai.
None of the members of Shanghai Qiutian were born in Shanghai, some of us come from different parts of China, others from a bit further away, so that gives each and every one of us a different perspective about Shanghai. We hav all become adults in this city, and despite sometimes not liking it so much we have sticked in Shanghai. This city also means a lot because we have spent our process on becoming adults in it, it has watch us grow, learn, love, work, start different projects… Shanghai has been our playground, our “everything is possible if you try hard enough” and that’s part of how Shanghai Qiutian was born.
We have also moved across the city in different periods of time, we have lived in the city center, also in Chongming island, in Qingpu, zhujiajiao…so we can say we kind of know many realities of it too. To summarize, Shanghai has shaped us in how we are right now as adults, so we guess everything we do and we write it’s shaped by Shanghai.
UPEE：除此之外，这张专辑中也有一首名为《河南》的曲目，是怎么想到创作一首关于“河南”的歌？
SHQT：有一段时间我（王毅）住在深圳。那是我就第一次听说“他肯定是河南人”这种带有贬义的话。但在我看来，（在深圳的）河南人感觉更接近我家里人的样子：勤劳、努力想让生活变得更好。所以…… 也许只是因为我找到了志同道合的人。
There was a period of time that I (王毅)was living in Shenzhen. That time was the first time I heard of “he must be from Henan” as something derogatory. But for me, Henan people (in Shenzhen) felt more close to what my family is, hard working, trying to upgrade life. So…maybe is just that I found my kind of people.
UPEE：这次专辑名为“爱你”，有什么特别的含义吗？你们期待听众在这张专辑的收听中接受到什么信息？
SHQT：就像我们提到的，写这张专辑的过程也是我们个人转型的时期。去理解我们身处何地，想做什么，怎么做，以及音乐在其中扮演什么角色。
“爱你”有很多不同的含义和形式。但对我来说，这张专辑最原始的意义是：只要我们继续彼此相爱，分享对音乐的热爱，我们就能帮助彼此克服生活中可能遇到的困难。这张专辑真的让我看到，到头来友情、亲情，当然还有其他形式的爱，是我们唯一拥有的东西。
如果没有鲁非言，我不知道我现在会在哪。但我知道一点，因为有了他和音乐，我现在处于一个更健康、更丰盈的状态。
所以《爱你》就像是一首关于爱的赞歌，关乎彼此照顾，热爱你所做的事，享受你爱的人的陪伴，欣赏并尊重他们…… 它提醒我们，当你毫无畏惧地去爱时，生活会变得更充实。说出来，走心一点，去分享，去感受。爱是伟大的，我们希望在我们的音乐会和生活中，人们都能感受到爱在生命中占有一席之地。
As we were mentioning , the writing process of this album has also been a personal transformation period for us. To understand where we stand, what and how we want to do and what’s the place that music takes into all that.
爱你 has also different meanings and shapes, but for me the primal meaning of this album is that while we keep loving each other and sharing our love for music, we can help each other overcome the difficulties we may face in life. This album has truly showed me that friendship and family, and of course other kinds of love are the only thing we have in the end of the day.
If I did not have 鲁非言 I don’t know where I would be right now. But I know one thing, that because of him and because of music I am in a much healthier, and richer situation right now.
So 爱你 is just an ode to love, to take care of each other, to love what you do, enjoy the company of people you love, admire them, respect them…it’s a reminder that life it’s much more full while you love without any fear. Say it, mean it, share it and feel it, love is great and we wish that in our concerts as well as in life, people can feel that love has a place in their lives.
UPEE：与此同时，你准备进行又一轮密集的关于《爱你》的专辑巡演，可以分享对于这次巡演的感受吗？对于之后的场次，你们有什么期待？
SHQT：超级兴奋！距离我们上次像样的巡演已经过去三年了，是时候走出去见大家了。每次有人提到或者叮嘱我们“保重”时，都觉得特别暖心，大家是真的很关心我们，关心我们的心理和身体健康。大家可能是想到了上次我们在休团前取消了最后几站演出的事。
但这也正是让我们兴奋的地方。我觉得我们可以一起完成这次巡演，然后以后就不会再有人说“上次他们取消了巡演”，而是会说“上次那轮巡演非常棒”。
就是这样。让我们一步一个脚印来。票卖得比我们预期的要好得多，很多站已经售罄了，离巡演开始还有好几周呢。
如果你还在犹豫，那就来吧，来玩得开心，一起唱歌，一起拥抱，感受爱。
Extremely excited! It’s been three years since our last proper tour and it was time to get ourselves out there. Every time people mentions or tell us to “take care” feels pretty heartwarming, as people truly cares about us, people is truly concerned about our mental health and physical health. People may think of the last time we cancelled the last few stops right before we went on that hiatus.
But that’s what makes us excited too, I think we can go through this tour together, and then it won’t be anymore “last time they cancelled the tour”, and it will become “last time the tour went great”.
So that’s it. Let’s take it one step at a time, tickets are selling better than we ever expected them to sell, many stops are already sold out and there are many weeks left until we start touring.
If you are hesitant, just come, have a good time, let’s sing song together, let’s hug and feel the love.
UPEE：此时此刻，你们最想吃什么食物？
SHQT：我现在就在想，能去这么多有好吃的城市巡演该多好啊。
我正在看巡演城市的名单…… 我根本选不出来哪个最好！西安总是个吃东西的好地方，很适合来碗面条……！
上次我们在呼和浩特的时候，去了大草原，吃了简直不可思议的好吃的羊肉。
但如果真要选一个……最简单的愿望就是最好的：找个好地方吃顿酸菜鲜肉饺子！
Right now I am just thinking about how nice will be to tour while we go to all this cities with amazing food.
I’m checking the list of the cities we are going and…I can’t choose one over another! Xi’An it’s always a good place for eating, a nice bowl of noodles…!
Last time we were in Hohhot we also went to the Grasslands and ate unbelievably amazing lamb.
But if I really need to choose one…simple desires are the best, a nice place 酸菜鲜肉饺子!
